Palliative Care

Palliative care delivered by specialists in the comfort and familiarity of home

An alternative to hospice care and inpatient palliative care, our palliative care services are delivered in the comfort and familiarity of home by a specialist, nurse-led care team.

At My Care Solution, we believe life should be lived fully and with meaning until the end, and that every individual deserves the option to be cared for at home.

Therefore, our end of life care and palliative care services are designed to help you manage your illness, pain and symptoms from end-to-end. As a result, you can continue to spend your time doing the things you love, with the people you love, in the place you love – your home.

Whether you wish to start your palliative care journey at home or transition from a hospital or hospice setting, My Care Solution can help you.

You can contact us today to get the ball rolling. If you live in Metropolitan Adelaide or the Adelaide Hills, contact our office on (08) 8331 9922. If you live in the Fleurieu Peninsula region, contact your local office on (08) 8552 9840.

Step 2: Meet a Client Care Coordinator

The next step is to book a complimentary care consultation with your Client Care Coordinator. We want to get to know you beyond your care needs and fully understand your requirements. Your Client Care Coordinator will also take the time to find out as much as possible about you, your interests and your lifestyle so that we can match you to the most compatible care staff.

Care consultations are available around-the-clock and can be booked online.

Step 3: Start receiving your services

Great! You’ve completed the care consultation and now your Client Care Coordinator has a thorough understanding of you and your care needs. We will create a tailored care plan and select the most compatible care staff to deliver your services. Our care staff are directly recruited, highly qualified and continuously trained to the same My Care Solution standard, so you can rest assured that any staff member chosen by your Client Care Coordinator is of the highest quality.

With no lock-in contracts or commitments, you can receive as much or as little help as you need. Your Client Care Coordinator will be on-call to help you arrange services when you need us. Alternatively, you may prefer to have a regular schedule of services which we can certainly assist you with.

The story of Elizabeth and Barry

“During the last week of Lizzie’s life, care for her went up another notch and was now 24 hours a day. All I had to do was sit and be with my Lizzie.

This was the hardest time in my life. But the help that came from the staff at My Care Solution was more than just the job of caring. It was like having another family with me.

My Lizzie never spoke or opened her eyes during that last week. But I kept telling her that I loved her. A few hours before she passed away, I told her once again that I loved her and I don’t know how she managed it, but she opened her eyes and spoke the words “I know.”

Lizzie passed away a few hours later the time was 4.20am on the 8th of March.

After she passed, My Care Solution continued to help me. Corrie came to our house, I think it was about 6.00am, and continued to organise and help with all the things that needed to be done at the time.

She asked if I would like her to contact someone for the funeral and many other little things that needed to be done. The help that I received at this time was to my mind quite extraordinary and way above what I expected.

Lizzie’s funeral was 1 week later, and to my surprise, Corrie and the staff that looked after my Lizzie were there and I was extremely grateful that they took the time to come. I would recommend that anyone who would want someone to look after a loved one should without a doubt use this special group of outstanding people.”
